Prepare in the years of plenty.

Biblical wisdom. Practical provision. Peace for the days ahead.

You don't need to be afraid of tomorrow. You need a plan for today.

We're helping families prepare their homes, build lasting provision, and learn the skills that will sustain them through every season.

Inspired by Joseph. Rooted in Goshen.

The Evergreen Promise

Your home can become a storehouse.

Practical preparation

With a few extra groceries in your pantry. Water stored away. Practical skills learned. A plan your whole family understands.

Family peace

You don’t need to be afraid of tomorrow. You need a plan for today.

Provision for others

We aren’t preparing to hide from the world. We’re preparing to become a source of provision within it.

The Joseph Principle

He didn't panic. He prepared.

When God revealed that famine was coming to Egypt, He also provided a strategy.

Through Joseph, storehouses were established during the years of abundance so that when the difficult years arrived, families could be fed and lives could be preserved.

We believe there is wisdom in that example for families today.

  • Prepare while there is plenty.
  • Build what you can with what you have.
  • Develop the skills you need.
  • And remember those around you.

We aren't preparing to hide from the world. We're preparing to become a source of provision within it.

The Preparedness Pathway

A simple path to a prepared home.

  1. A mother writing her family plan at the kitchen table

    01 — Make a plan

Begin with our Evergreen Family Starter Plan. Discover what your household needs, organize what you already have, and take your first practical steps toward three days of preparedness.

  2. Pantry shelves lined with jars of beans, grains, and preserves

    02 — Build your storehouse

Grow your provisions gradually. From three days to two weeks, then toward a deeper household reserve. Learn to store, organize, rotate, and use what you have.

  3. Hands kneading bread dough on a floured board

    03 — Learn the skills

Supplies are only half of preparedness. Learn practical skills that make your family more resourceful, capable, and self-sufficient.

  4. A father and children harvesting tomatoes in the family garden

    04 — Become provision

A prepared household can become a blessing to others. Build with your neighbors in mind, strengthen your church, and help create communities where provision is already close to home.

The Evergreen Vision

Every home a storehouse. Every church a Goshen. Every community strengthened.

Our vision doesn't stop at the front door.

Every home — a storehouse

Families equipped with practical reserves, essential skills, and the confidence to care for their households.

Every church — a Goshen

Congregations preparing together, building shared resources, and becoming places of provision and refuge for their neighbors.

Every community — connected

Local farmers, growers, tradespeople, and teachers working together to build stronger, more resilient communities.

This is the future we're working toward.

Our heart

From our family to yours.

We're Nate and Christy Johnston.

We're parents raising three daughters, and like many families, we've been asking how to build a home that is more grounded, more prepared, and less dependent on fragile systems.

Between Nate's background in outdoor survival and Christy's journey into homeschooling, growing food, baking, preserving, and returning to practical home skills, Evergreen began to take shape.

And we'd love for your family to join us.

For the church

What if every church became a storehouse?

Imagine congregations that are equipped not only to gather and worship but also to care practically for their communities.

  • A pantry stocked through simple weekly giving.
  • A team of faithful stewards.
  • Practical skills being taught and shared.
  • Local farmers and families connected.
  • Doors that are open when neighbors need help.

We're developing the Storehouse Church model to help congregations begin simply and grow into places of provision.

It can start with one can a week.
